House design essentials in new Zealand :insulations part one

Now we like to call our country a sub-tropical country ,but in reality it is less tropical and more sub .
Therefore it highly important for the average kiwi  to get his home insulated rather than burn a hole in his pocket trying to afford round the clock heating .We at housedesignsnewzealand bring to you some low cost insulation hacks

Stop Heat loss from doors Fit draught excluders on all your doors, we can’t afford the cold air freezing us up .You can buy sealant strips from your local DIY stores as they are easy to fix just like fixing sticky tape.

While you are at it seal the windows too  Cracks and small spacing in windows  are the favorite escape points for warm air .To check for gaps in your window, run the palm of your hand around the edge of the frame. If you feel a breeze, you've got a culprit hole. Seal it  up with sealant.

Invest in double glazing  Easily your most profitable investment should be a no brainer, saving you thousands of dollars

Use blinds or curtains on windows   They not only make you feel cozy and warm ,but closing them after dark saves a hell lot of heat keeping you warm and cushy.
